For an S14 running big steering angle, the tension rod itself becomes the obstacle: at full lock the wheel and tire contact the rod before the knuckle runs out of travel. The ISR Performance Pro Series offset angled front tension control rods for the 1995-1998 Nissan 240SX S14 solve that with a new angled and offset design that provides added wheel clearance for greater steering angle.
Offset design
Instead of running straight from the chassis mount to the lower control arm, these rods are angled and offset to move the rod body away from the inside of the tire. That is the difference between hitting the rod at lock and using the full angle your knuckles and rack allow. Caster remains adjustable, so you lose nothing compared to the straight Pro rod.
Pro Series hardware
- Japanese spherical rod bearings
- Larger rod ends
- Rod end dust boots
- Thicker materials
- Added bracing
These improvements are what separate the Pro Series from the Street Series arms ISR sold for years before releasing this higher end line. The same rods are used on Patrick Goodin's professional Formula Drift race car, handling the abuse of 1000+hp.
Vehicle fitment
- 1995-1998 Nissan 240SX (S14)
In the box
- 2x Pro Series offset angled front tension rods
- 4x bolts
Notes
Built for street and track use. The clearance gain is most valuable on cars with angle kits or modified knuckles, where the stock-style rod is often the first thing the tire touches.
All ISR Performance products are designed for off-road use only.
