Oil in the spark plug wells is one of the most common SR20DET leaks, and this ISR Performance OE replacement valve cover gasket set for the S13 RWD SR20DET fixes it with both pieces you need: the outer valve cover gasket and the spark plug well gasket. Rather than reuse a hardened original or hunt for a dealer part, you get a fresh OE replacement set in one package.

Why both gaskets ship together

On the SR20DET the valve cover seals in two places. The perimeter gasket keeps oil off the exhaust manifold and head, while the plug well gasket seals the tubes that carry the coils down to the spark plugs. When the well gasket fails, oil floods the coil packs and causes misfires that look like ignition faults. Replacing only the outer gasket leaves that problem untouched.

Application

Nissan RWD SR20DET, S13 chassis valve cover. ISR produces this as part of its OE replacement line, which grew out of demand for hard to find JDM service parts.

Install notes

Scrape the old sealant from the cover and head, then torque the cover bolts evenly in sequence. A small dab of RTV at the cam cap corners helps the gasket seat where the factory recommends it.
