Sold individually, the ISR Performance OE replacement exhaust valve stem seals for the Nissan RWD SR20DET let you refresh the exhaust side of the head without buying more seals than you need. Exhaust stem seals take the harshest heat in the valvetrain and are the first to go hard on a turbocharged SR20DET that has seen years of boost.

What failing exhaust seals look like

Oil past the exhaust guides goes straight out the port and into the turbine housing, where it burns off as smoke under deceleration and leaves oily residue at the turbo and downpipe. Many SR owners chase a turbo seal when the real cause is the exhaust valve stem seals.

Application

Nissan RWD SR20DET cylinder heads, exhaust side. The engine uses eight exhaust valves, and the intake seals are a different part sold separately by ISR.

Install tips

Replace with a stem seal installer to avoid damaging the lip, check the valve guides for wear before fitting new seals, and do both intake and exhaust sides in the same head job.
