Run Down on The ISR 240sx Exhaust systems

There are hundreds of different exhaust systems that have been developed for the Nissan S chassis since the beginning of time. From HKS, to Tanabe to Tomei and Megan and the original ISR GT Single exhausts. From 2.5 inch or 3 inch. Resonated, non-resonated. 2 bolt flanges or 4 bolt. The possibilities are endless. In July of 2020, ISR Performance released the all new Series II system to mic drop on the 240sx exhaust game for good. The Series II cat-back systems are unique in their ability to be modular. There 3 different styles to choose from: EP 4" "Turn down" pie cut blast pipe, GT Single with a big 4.5" Slant cut exit and the popular Dual EP Blast pipes. The Midpipe selection has two choices, Resonated, and Non resonated. All of this gives you the ability to swap out the exhaust on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday! 

Quality and Fitment:

ISR Performance was started by a bunch of Nissan 240sx enthusiasts back in 2008 ish. The first couple years it took them to find their groove in balancing quality, fitment, and affordability for parts. Now in 2020, we would say they've mastered it with most of the product line including their exhaust systems. The series II system features all TIG welded stainless steel piping and was revised to tuck the exhaust up as high as possible in the chassis for best ground clearance on low cars. ISR Performance EP Single Turn Down:

Also known as "dolphin nose" exhaust. Straight 3 inch pipe that expands to 4 inch right after the axle and eventually turns down via JDM pie cuts :

ISR Performance Series II GT Single:

 A revision of the original popular  GT Single Exhaust, the 3 inch stainless piping runs into a small canister and exits out of an Extended 4.5 inch slant cut tip. The extension allows for a much more aggressive look on stock body cars, and gets rid of the sunken battleship look on cars with body kits. The example here is for the S14 model.

ISR Performance Series II EP Dual:

 This system is based off the original, super popular  EP Dual kit that came out more than half a decade ago. The merge has been revised for much better flow and now features a staggered 3 inch dual tip exit. Again the rear tips are extended to improve the fitment on cars with aftermarket bumpers.

Resonated or Non-resonated Midpipe:

The idea behind the resonated midpipe on the exhaust system is to add a chamber style silencer that helps reduce frequencies that cause droning issues when cruising at certain RPM's. The amount of drone has many factors, such as engine exhaust pulses from each cylinder's exhaust valve bursts. If you have a track car, there is no reason for it. If you have a track car and think you need one. Maybe it's time to pick up crocheting? For street cars, it's understandable.
