ISR Performance OE Replacement Timing Chain Tensioner Gasket - RWD SR20DET

Fit this ISR Performance OE replacement timing chain tensioner gasket whenever the tensioner comes off a Nissan RWD SR20DET. The tensioner mounts to the head on the S13 and S14 SR20DET and is fed by engine oil, so a worn gasket leaks oil down the front of the engine and onto the exhaust side where it burns off.

Typical reasons the tensioner comes out

Cam swaps, timing chain or guide replacement, and chasing the well known SR20DET timing chain rattle all involve removing the tensioner. Reusing the old gasket after it has been compressed is asking for a leak, and the part is far too inexpensive to risk it.

Install notes

Reset the tensioner plunger per the factory procedure before installation and torque the bolts evenly. Confirm chain tension and cam timing marks before refitting the valve cover.
