ISR Performance OE Replacement RWD SR20DET Oil Filler Cap O-Ring

A dried out oil filler cap seal is a tiny part with an outsized effect on how clean an SR20DET engine bay stays. This ISR Performance OE replacement oil filler cap O-ring fits the RWD SR20DET filler cap and restores the seal between the cap and the valve cover, keeping crankcase mist from escaping onto the cover and surrounding hoses.

Why it goes bad

The filler cap lives on top of the hottest part of the valve cover and gets removed every oil change. Over decades the rubber O-ring shrinks and cracks, and the cap starts to weep. On a turbocharged SR with crankcase pressure under boost, that weep turns into a steady film of oil.

Install note

Remove the old O-ring from the cap groove, clean out any baked residue and roll the new one into place. If the cap is still leaking with a new seal, check for excess crankcase pressure from a blocked PCV or breather.
