ISR Performance Universal Muffler Hanger Bushings

The ISR Performance Universal Muffler Hanger Bushing is the small part that keeps an exhaust system where it belongs. Hanger bushings carry the weight of the mid pipe and muffler and absorb engine movement, and over years of heat cycles they stretch, crack and tear. A worn bushing lets the exhaust sag, knock against the chassis and put stress on flanges and welds. Replacing them is cheap insurance for any exhaust install, new or old.

When to replace

If the exhaust sits low on one side, rattles over bumps, or a tip has shifted out of center in the bumper cutout, a stretched or torn hanger is the usual cause. It is also smart to fit new bushings whenever you install a new cat-back, since the old ones have usually been baked hard by the time the factory system comes off.

Installation

Count the hanger rods on your exhaust before ordering and buy one bushing per rod. A little soapy water or rubber-safe lubricant makes sliding them over the hanger rods much easier.
