ISR Performance Race Muffler Delete - Mazda Miata NC 06-13

The ISR Performance race muffler delete for the 2006 to 2013 Mazda Miata NC removes the heavy rear muffler and replaces it with a single stainless steel pipe. It is a quick, clean way to shed weight and give the NC a sharper edge at the track, and it drops roughly 21 pounds compared to the stock muffler.

Why delete the muffler on an NC

The factory NC muffler is big, heavy and hangs out behind the rear axle, which is exactly where you do not want extra weight on a balanced roadster. Removing it lowers overall mass, trims weight from the back of the car, and opens the exhaust path so the 2.0 liter MZR breathes more freely at high rpm. The sound gets louder and more mechanical, which most track and autocross drivers consider a bonus.

Fitment

Mazda Miata NC, 2006 to 2013 model years. Bolts in place of the factory rear muffler using the supplied gasket and hardware.

Before you install

This is a race part, so expect significantly more volume than stock and check your track's sound limits if they enforce one. Installation is a bolt off, bolt on swap at the muffler flange, with the stock hangers supporting the new pipe. Confirm the tip sits centered in the rear bumper before final tightening.
