Full Length Adjustment Explained

Many budget coilovers lower the car by threading the spring perch down the body, which also compresses the available bump travel. Full length adjustable bodies separate ride height from preload: the lower mount moves independently, so a lowered Z32 keeps the damper stroke it needs to absorb bumps and stay composed over rough pavement.

Setup Advice

Start with damping set near the middle of the range and adjust in small steps, keeping a note of the click count front and rear. After setting ride height, corner balance the car if possible and have the alignment checked, since lowering a Z32 changes camber and toe. The 8k/6k rate split keeps the front planted on turn-in while letting the rear stay compliant enough to put power down.
