When to Replace

A weeping weep hole, coolant trails down the front of the block, bearing noise at idle or play in the pulley all point to a pump on its way out. On an SR20DET, the pump sits behind the timing cover area and is driven off the accessory belt, so it is worth replacing proactively when you are already in there for a belt, thermostat or timing chain job.

Fitment

Fits the S13 SR20DET RWD only. Not for the S14 or S15 SR20DET, and not for front wheel drive SR20 engines.

Install Notes

Drain the coolant, remove the belt and pulley, and transfer the original studs from the old pump. Clean the block mating surface completely before fitting the new gasket. Refill and burp the cooling system, then check for leaks after the first full warm-up.
