ISR Performance 7 Layer Exhaust Manifold Gasket - Hyundai Genesis 2.0T

Any time the turbo manifold comes off a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T, the exhaust manifold gasket should go in the bin. The ISR Performance 7 layer exhaust manifold gasket for the Genesis 2.0T replaces the OEM part with a multi-layer design that seals more reliably against the pressure and heat cycling a turbocharged Theta engine produces.

Why a 7 layer gasket

A single layer gasket relies on one sealing surface to handle every bit of warping and thermal growth between the head and the manifold. Stacking seven layers lets the gasket conform to small imperfections and maintain clamping load as the parts expand and contract, which is why ISR specifies this design whenever a manifold is changed or an engine is refreshed.

• 2.0T Theta engines only; not for the 3.8 V6

When to use it

• Installing an aftermarket turbo manifold
• Swapping or upgrading the turbocharger with the manifold removed
• Refreshing the engine or chasing an exhaust leak at the head

Clean both the head and manifold flanges down to bare metal before installation, check the manifold flange for warping with a straightedge, and torque the manifold fasteners in sequence to avoid pinching the layers unevenly.
